On Oct. 25 and 26, the Roxboro Community School (RCS) Arts Department will present “Haunted School.” On Friday night from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday night from 6:30 to 10 p.m., the public is invited to come join RCS for scares, laughs, and the haunted history behind the Old Roxboro Cotton Mill.

RCS Band Director Eric Swanson said, “I think people just don’t understand the hauntings that have gone on in this school. There’s nothing in the history books, but stories have been passed down for years.”

It was those rumors and stories that gave Swanson and his students the idea to hold the “Haunted School” event the weekend before Halloween.

The Arts Department will set up seven rooms, each with a certain haunted story from years past. Everyone in the community is invited to come and receive a history lesson about RCS as the Old Cotton Mill.

“I think everyone will be surprised at what they see,” said Swanson.

The cost of admission both nights is $5 per person.
