Carrie Todd Gentry

Carrie Todd Gentry, 105, of 1450 Gentry Ridge Rd., died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.

Born in Washington County, Mrs. Gentry was the daughter of the late Nehemiah Jackson and Nora Wingate Todd and wife of the late Earl W. Gentry Sr. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Franklin Taylor Gentry, Arnold Todd Gentry and Earl Watkins Gentry Jr.; her brothers, Royal Todd and Jack Todd and her sisters, Bessie L. Dixon, Ellen Todd Eakes, Geneva Todd Robertson, Frances Hicks, Nancy Puryear and Sallie Harrison.

Mrs. Gentry was a homemaker and head dietician at Allensville School. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gentry is survived by her sister, Ann Todd Poole of Roxboro; six grandchildren, Donnie L. Gentry and wife, Valerie, Frankie T. Gentry and wife, Becky, James T. Gentry and wife, Mary Della, Michelle G. Williams and husband, Kelly, Wayne Gentry and Renee Gentry, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 21, at Mill Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Deon Loving and the Rev. Tommy Robertson. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 10 to 11a.m., Monday at Mill Creek Baptist Church prior to the service.

Pallbearers were deacons of Mill Creek Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers were Barney Poole, Barry Poole, Bernie Poole, Todd Williams and Taylor Gentry.

Flowers are acceptable, but donations preferred to Mill Creek Baptist Church, 1890 Mill Creek Rd., Roxboro, NC, 27574.
