James Emory Cooper III

SEMORA — James Emory Cooper III, 27, of 360 Greenway Dr., Semora, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013.

Born in McPherson, Kansas, James was the son of Sally Ann Cooper of Semora and James Cooper Jr., of Gainesville, Fla.

James worked as a traveling Instrumentation Engineer and attended Roxboro Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, James is survived by his sister, Renee Robinson and husband, Tommy DeWayne of Semora; his sister, Jamie Cooper Irvin and husband, Jackson; his brother, Jason Frakes of Waddell, Ariz.; his brother Derek Frakes of Albuquerque, N.M.; his sister Farah Mendoza of Carlsbad, N.M.; his brother Josh Rowe of Gainesville, Fla.; his nephews Christian, Joshua, Clayton, Liam and Marek Frakes; and his niece, Kendal Frakes; as well as, his girlfriend, Amanda and her son, Colin Solomon of Roxboro.

Although known by many as “Little Jim,” he was anything but “Little,” apparent through his grand stature, larger than life personality, as well as, his enormous heart full of love for his family and friends. James was one of a kind; he truly lit up a room. A country boy at heart with city style, he loved the outdoors, especially snowboarding, wakeboarding, and golf.

Throughout his entire life, he brought smiles and laughter to all those he encountered. James recently found a greater love for life, embracing it with every cell of his body. His enthusiasm and hope for the future touched so many lives. James was immensely proud of his relationship with our savior and his new life, which was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him well. James will be eternally missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, at Brooks & White Funeral Home by the Rev. Brad Wesley. Burial will follow in Lebanon Christian Church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of DeWayne and Renee Robinson.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Irvin, Justin Johnson, Nick Best, Tom DeHoog, Andrew Warren and Jacob Godwin.

Flowers are appreciated and memorials may be made to Youth for Christ, 80 Danwin Lane, Roxboro, NC on behalf of James.
