George Washington Tuck

Mr. George Washington Tuck of Peace Road, died on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Person Memorial Hospital at the age of 92.

Mr. Tuck was born in Halifax County, Virginia on Aug. 28, 1921 to the late Mr. Clarence Tuck and Mrs. Lucille Faulkner Tuck. He was first married to the late Mrs. Nannie Ruth Hall Tuck and later married Mrs. Esther Cash Tuck. He was a member of Blue Wing Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Tuck is survived by his wife, Esther Cash Tuck; three sons, George Tuck and wife, Minnie of Arlington, Va., Ernest Tuck and companion, Mauri of Upper Marlboro, Md. and Robert Tuck Sr. and wife, Doreen of Roxboro; three daughters, Alice Huff and husband, Art of Laurinburg, Wanda Austin of Woodbridge, Va. and Joan Cephas of Dumfires, Va.; stepson, Reginald Tuck and wife, Laura of Durham; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verdell Claughton and husband, Steve Jr. and Carolyn Veney, all of Cluster Springs, Va.; seven sisters-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tuck was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise, Betty and Inez; three brothers, John, Wallace and Sylvester and one grandson, Patrick Tuck.

Funeral services for Mr. Tuck will be held Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. at Blue Wing Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Hayward Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, 2000 North Main St., South Boston, Va. The family is receiving friends at the church on Sunday.
