MLK Prayer Breakfast to be held Monday at Shady Hill

The Person County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance will hold its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19 in the fellowship hall of Shady Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1500 Old Durham Rd.

The speaker for the occasion will be AnToria D. Brown, pastor of Jeter Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in South Boston, Va.

Brown is originally from Orlando, Fla. and currently resides in Nathalie, Va. He served in the United States Army from June 1986 to June 1994.

He was called to preach in the 2001. He served as associate minister of Ellis Creek Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Rodney Forrest for four years. He was called to pastor Jeter Chapel Baptist Church in June 2005.

His spiritual educational background consists of a Certificate of Biblical Studies from Liberty University based in Lynchburg, Va., an Associates of Arts degree in biblical studies from Southwest Bible College and Seminary based in Jennings, La. and he is a graduate of Shaw University based in Raleigh where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion and philosophy.

He is married to Wanda Brown and they have six children and three grandchildren.
