On Oct. 30 and 31, from 7 to 10 p.m., the Roxboro Community School (RCS) Band Department will host the third annual Haunted School.

Everyone is invited to attend and all proceeds will go toward purchasing band instruments and music.

Eric Swanson, RCS band director, is hoping that 700 people will come through the Haunted School this year.

This event is being held with the assistance of RCS band students, artists, dancers, and actors/actresses.

Artists will help decorate the lobby.

Meanwhile, the band students, some dancers, and the actors/actresses will help within the rooms.

Swanson said, “This year we will pay tribute to the great film genre of horror.”

There are going to be six rooms this year; each room will have a different story that is based on a movie theme.

The Haunted School will take place on the first floor of the school, utilizing six classrooms and both cafeterias.

In the cafeterias, a freak show and a zombie apocalypse will take place.

“It’s Halloween. Nothing like a good scare,” said Swanson.
