Roxboro Community School (RCS) Beta Club members travelled to Concord for a Beta Club Leadership Summit on Oct. 12.

Three sophomores, 12 juniors, and two seniors attended three sessions from speakers that traveled all over the United States talking to Beta Clubs nationwide.

After they arrived, the Beta Club members participated in a two-hour session before being offered four hours of free time to eat dinner and enjoy the indoor water park. The second session of the trip was from 8-10 p.m., and then participants were free until 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

After waiting impatiently in the line at Dunkin’ Donuts, located inside Great Wolf Lodge, the RCS Beta Club members settled in for the last session of the Summit. Two hours later, the Bulldogs were on their way home, after a pit stop at Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch.

“The trip was a blast! It was great meeting new people and hanging out with everyone,” said Grace Hardy, RCS sophomore.

Junior Carly Long described the trip as inspirational.

“It gave me and the other RCS students who went on the trip ideas and encouragement to help improve our school. It also gave us the push we needed to become leaders,” said Long.
