The Democratic Women of Person County will meet on Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Person Senior Center, 309 Long Avenue. Joe Clayton will speak on the affects of fracking on commodity prices; Onte Johnson will give a brief presentation on energy conservation.

AA Champions Group meets at New Brook United Methodist Church, 267 Old Durham Rd., on Tuesday at 12 p.m.; Wednesday at 8 p.m.; Friday at 12 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.

PERSON COUNTY AL-ANON meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. at Long Memorial United Methodist Church in Roxboro.

Celebrate Recovery (physical and psychological addiction) meets each Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Westwood Baptist Church in Roxboro. For additional information, call Jim Fulp at 599-2078.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE SUPPORT GROUP meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Reformation Christian Center, 134 Weeks Dr., next to Golden Corral. All are welcome, including family.

Substance Abuse Help and Counseling is held at New Life in Jesus Church, 118 South Main St., on Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m.

AA Women’s Only meetings are held every Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Roxboro Presbyterian Church.

AA NEW BEGINNINGS GROUP has closed literature study meetings every Friday at 7 p.m. at New Brook United Methodist Church, 265 Old Durham Road.

AA BACK ROOM GROUP meets Sundays at 6 p.m. at the Hurdle Mills Fire Department.

SAFE HAVEN of Person County Support Group meets on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at 119 S. Main St. Discussion is led by trained counselors and Safe Haven staff. For more information, call 336-597- 8699.

Hurdle Mills Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual BBQ Supper on Saturday, Nov. 7 beginning at 4 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Clement Baptist Church. Plates are $7 and include barbeque, slaw, hushpuppies and dessert. The silent auction starts at 5:30 p.m.

It was previously announced that the NC Interagency Beter Pastures meetings to be held in Burlington, Albemarle and Kenansville are open to farmers and ranchers. However, this is incorrect. These meetings are for agency employees only.
