Reality Store shows middle schoolers ‘facts of life’

Once again, professionals from Person and surrounding counties visited Roxboro Community School this week, to give eighth-graders a taste of what adult life entails.

The students visited stations to find out the type of job they had, the amount of their salary, what their living expenses were, how many children they had to support, and other “facts of life.”

They had to write checks to pay their bills.

Teachers said students talked about the Reality Store experience for the rest of the day on Tuesday, showing how much they had learned from it.

The Reality Store is a collaboration event between Roxboro Community School, Person County Schools and the Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce.
