George Reade Foushee

George Reade Foushee, 86, of 1860 Flat River Church Road, died Sunday, July 31, 2016.
Born in Person County, Mr. Foushee was the son of the late Wallace Foushee and Pearl Williams Foushee. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lottye Berry Foushee and one daughter, Amy Evans.
He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Reade grew up on a tobacco farm and was a tobacco farmer all of his life. He was a dedicated Christian servant to his church, community, friends and family. As a man of great integrity, he was admired and loved by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Howerton Foushee of the home; six daughters, Joy Winstead (David) of Roxboro, Luanne Smith (Ricky) of Elon, Penny Stewart (John) of Trinity, Connie Bowes (Carl) of Roxboro, Denise Wrenn of Roxboro and Felicia Allen (Phillip) of Roxboro; one brother, John Foushee (Loretta) of Roxboro; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church fellowship hall and other times at the home.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Donald Daniel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Morris, Russell Horton, David Green, Jay Foushee, Daniel Wrenn, Jody Allison, Larry Liles and Cameron Bowes. Honorary pallbearers will be Mt. Zion United Methodist Men.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Playground or Building Fund, c/o Pam Rodgers, 135 Clay Long Road, Hurdle Mills, NC 27541.
