Thomas Junior Cannon Sr.

TIMBERLAKE — Mr. Thomas Junior Cannon Sr., age 79, a resident of 90 Hollis Way, Timberlake,  departed this life in his home Friday morning,  July 29, 2016 following several years of declining health.
He was a native of Pitt County and a member of Holy Temple Church of Jesus Christ in Timberlake.
Mr. Cannon leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted, cherished and loving wife, Rosa Rogers Cannon of the home; two sons, Linwood Cannon of Timberlake and Robert Cannon (Elaine) of Belmont, California; four daughters, Patricia Cannon Graham (Donald) of Tampa Florida, Jacquelyn Cannon of Washington, D.C., Vickie Cannon Grant (Leon) of Acworth, Georgia and LaTaunya Cannon of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Mary Francis Collington of Washington, D.C.; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild;  one goddaughter, Carolyn Holmes; two godsons, Kent Tucker of Salisbury and James Graham of Piscataway, Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Eula Cannon of Ayden and Betty Rogers of Baltimore, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and  friends.
The funeral service was held Tuesday Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. in The Holy Temple of Jesus Christ, 3843 Antioch Church Rd., Timberlake, NC 27583 with Bishop Wendell Smith delivering the eulogy. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Monday evening from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. At other times, the family will be at the home.
The body lie in state in the church for one hour prior to the service.  
Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Directors are in charge of the service of comfort for Mr. Thomas Junior Cannon, Sr.
