Melinda Goodson Melinda Goodson Roxboro Community School (RCS) has introduced a new health and physical education teacher, Melinda Goodson. Goodson also plays the role of the assistant athletic director.

Goodson is from Timberlake. She has a fraternal twin sister and is strongly connected to her home, family, and friends, which she says has kept her in Person County.

“I count my life as a blessing,” said Goodson. “I have lived a simple, modest and humble life. I wouldn’t change one thing about it.”

Goodson attended college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Greensboro College. She earned her B.S. in exercise sports science and her M.Ed in exercise and sports science.

Goodson worked at both Person High School and Graham High School before coming to RCS. She heard about the job opening at RCS through a post online.

“Obtaining this job at RCS was a pleasant surprise,” said Goodson.

“The staff and students have been welcoming and respectful,” added Goodson.
