City sets Earth Day project

The city of Roxboro is reaching out to members of the community to mark Earth Day by cleaning an area of of their choice in Roxboro. Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22.

Here in Roxboro, Uptown Development director Lauren Wrenn wants to encourage community pride by holding a clean up day.

Interested individuals, or groups, may contact the Planning & Development Office at 336-599-3116 to select the area of Roxboro they are most interested in cleaning for the day.

“Volunteers can select a residential street, roadside, park, or any other public space that is near and dear to their heart,” Wrenn said. “Our goal is to engage members throughout the community in working together to make their home a little bit better. It is our hope that this will also foster feelings of local pride that will transcend into other community-wide projects in the future.”
