Dickey GarrettPauline Dickey GarrettGraham — Mrs. Pauline Dickey Garrett, age 89, formerly of Graham, died at Silas Creek Rehabilitation Center in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 at 6 a.m. after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Pauline was born June 22, 1928 in Person County to William and Hallie Mae Dickey. She was the beloved wife of Emery E. Garrett who preceded her in death.
She resided in Alamance County for most of her adult life.  Pauline was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church in Burlington where she sang in the choir, taught children’s Sunday school classes, and worked with the teen girls in the Women’s Missionary Union. She worked for several years at Customex in Burlington and in her last 10 years of employment, worked as a teaching assistant with the Burlington City School System.
She is survived by her son, Ed Garrett of Winston-Salem; daughter, Pam Brown and her husband David of Winston-Salem; granddaughter, Stacy Garrett of Arlington, Virginia; and grandson, Steven Brown and his wife Ashley of Winston-Salem. She is also survived by her sister, Roxanne Dudley of Raleigh; sister, Brenda Smith of Roxboro; and several nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by three siblings, including her twin brother, Paul.
A graveside service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park, 4039 South Church Street, Burlington, NC 27215 on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at Northside Baptist Church after the service at 513 Homewood Avenue, Burlington, NC 27215.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church.
