Phyllis Davis Francis

HALIFAX, Va. — Phyllis Davis Francis of Halifax, Virginia passed away Sept. 23, 2017.  
She was born in Halifax on May 14, 1956 and was 61 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Marion Harper Davis and Betty Davis Ford of Halifax.  She was married to Gernie Thomas Francis Sr. who survives.
She was a member of South Boston Church of God. She was a dedicated Sunday school teacher at Woodview Nursing Home for 20 plus years. She was also an RN at Halifax Regional Hospital for 38 years.
Phyllis Davis Francis is survived by her husband  Gernie T. Francis of Halifax; her mother Betty Davis Ford and husband Wallace of Halifax; one daughter, Tabitha Lam and husband Deric of Greensboro; one son, Samuel Wayne Lancaster of Greensboro; two stepchildren, John Dean Epperson of Burlington and Gernie Thomas “G.T.” Francis Jr. of Charlottesville, Virginia; four grandchildren, Hayden Lam, Drew Lam, Kace Lam, and Charity Lancaster; three step grandchildren, Seth Epperson, Morgan Epperson and Jack Francis; and one sister, Peggy Duffey and husband Tony of Lynchburg, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by, one daughter, Charity Perry; and her first husband, Wayne Lancaster.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. at South Boston Church of God with the Rev. T. Wayne Daniel officiating. Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Halifax Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends Tuesday at South Boston Church of God from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
