PHS Librarian Courtney Barnes PHS Librarian Courtney Barnes Well this isn’t Beauty and the Beast, but there is a lot of beauty in this club. Adorabella is a club created and directed by Person High School (PHS) library teacher Courtney Barnes and English teacher Octavia Reynolds.

Adorabella, which was established in 2014, helps girls in and out of school with topics that deal with leadership, entrepreneurship, college prep, career skills and community service.

“I took over the organization in the spring of 2015 with Ms.Lotticia Mack’s guidance and support since she moved to another school” said Barnes. “I believe in the vision of empowering and enriching lives of the young ladies at PHS.”

Along with the National Honor Society, the club also helps with community service projects such as food drives.

Adorabella is a club that involves sisterhood and friendship.

“It is important to me because it is always important for me to reach out to young girls and I plan on assisting Adorabella for as long as I can” said Reynolds. “This club will help them prepare for the future involving college as well as the jobs of their choice.”
