Alma Louise Martin Clayton


Hurdle Mills — Alma Louise Martin Clayton, age 72, of 505 Aubrey Clayton Road died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at Duke Regional Hospital.
She was born in Person County to the late Lois Loftis and L.J. (Kiser) Martin.
Mrs. Clayton was a founding member of New Life Independent Baptist Church. She was retired from Biomerieux with 20 years service.  
Survivors include her husband, Aubrey Yancey Clayton Jr. of the home; one daughter, Deborah Coley (Sherwood) of Roxboro; three sons, Barry Tate, Tony Tate, (Betty) and Darrell Clayton (Denise) all of Hurdle Mills;  five brothers, Henry Martin (Pauline) of Roxboro, Johnny Martin (Brenda) of Timberlake, Robert Martin (Lila) of Prospect Hill, and Ray Martin and Jerry Martin (Myra), all of Roxboro; two sisters, Ann Solomon and Faye Sullivan, both of Roxboro; five grandchildren, Justin Keatts, Bradey Coley (Destiny), Blake Tate, Avery Clayton, and Atleigh Clayton; and one great granddaughter, Abigale Tate.    
The family received friends Sunday, Nov. 5 at Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. Mike Whitt and the Rev. Fred Lowery officiating. Burial was in the Clayton Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Philip Rose, Wesley Martin, Scott Martin Michael Whitt, Cliff Porterfield, and Michael Lewis.
