Roxboro Community School encouraged local residents to get their Christmas shopping done early at its 11th annual Holiday Extravaganza on Saturday.

The event, which was organized by the school’s Parent, Teacher and Student Organization, featured gifts and crafts from vendors, who set up their booths in the new multipurpose room from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Handmade wooden products, home decor, clothing and baked goods were just some of the offerings.

A popular attraction was a “kissing booth” set up by the Animal Protection Society of Person County. My Life Matters sold crafts made by elementary school students in the program, the RCS Spanish Club shared information about their upcoming trip to Spain and the RCS Interact Club took orders for poinsettias.

At 9:30 a.m., the RCS Glee Club held its first public performance for the guests, followed by local singer-songwriter Angela Daniel, who continued the Christmas spirit with holiday songs.

Other attractions included a silent auction, a raffle with prizes such as La Cocina coupons and a Yeti cooler, and a barbecue lunch catered by Country Club Convenience Catering. Tricia’s Espresso provided hot coffee, and vendors sold an assortment of desserts.
