Eleanor Cox Bass

Eleanor Cox Bass, age 93, long term resident of Roxboro and Swansboro died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017.  
She was the daughter of the late Bernice Walthall Cox and John William Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William C. “Bill” Bass Jr.; two children, Sharlene Y. Spyhalski and James Leon Yarborough Jr.; and three siblings, Edith Terry, Eli Cox, and G. B. Cox.  
Mrs. Bass was retired from Collins & Aikman after 40 years of employment and after retirement she volunteered at The Hem of His Garment in Swansboro. She was a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Bass Puckett and  husband, Dr. James Puckett of Mooresville; two grandchildren, Beverly G. Manning and Christine Griffin; two great grandchildren, Jeshuron Manning and Joshua Webster; and nieces and nephews, Monica Terry, Collins Terry, Sheila Hufham, and Michael Cox.  
The family will receive family and friends 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Brooks & White Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Brooks & White Chapel with Tony Bowes officiating. Burial will be in the Person Memorial Cemetery following the service.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Webster, Chase Parrott, Dan Harris, Wayne Abrams, Mike Briggs, and Danny Dixon.
