RCS senior wins Christmas card contest

Madison Fuller Senior Alexis Starvaggi designed the holiday card RCS is sending out this year. Madison Fuller During the month of November, Roxboro Community School (RCS) held a Holiday Card Design Contest. Senior Alexis Starvaggi created the winning entry.

Dave Ebert, managing executive director, asked art teacher Anne Bettendorf to involve her classes in designing a card for the holidays. RCS administration had the winning design printed, and is sending the the cards to schools, businesses, and individuals in the Person County community to wish them happy holidays.

Sixth grader Allie Solomon created the runnerup design. Both students received a Bojangles gift card.

“I’ve only been in art class starting this year but I think I got my art skills from my mom because she’s an art teacher,” said Starvaggi.
