Clarence Dale Rimmer

Clarence Dale Rimmer, 81, of 1592 Whitt Town Road, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at his home. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Clarence Rimmer and Tellie Clayton Rimmer. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers; Douglas Randall Rimmer and Bernard Darrow Rimmer and his wife, Joanne Rimmer; his nephew, Randy Rimmer.

Mr. Rimmer was an active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where he served on numerous committees and was an active participant with the United Methodist Men. Mr. Rimmer was a co-owner of C.E. Rimmer and Sons Construction. He was a charter member of the Roxboro Optimist Club. Mr. Rimmer was an avid Duke fan.

Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Cates Rimmer of the home; two daughters Kim Rimmer Tuck and husband, Terry of Kernersville and Jill Marie Rimmer; one brother, Barry Clayton Rimmer and wife, Kay of Hurdle Mills; two grandchildren Cameron Paige Tuck and Maci Dale Tuck; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall with the Pastor Donald Daniel and the Pastor Norma Walters Roberts. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Burch, Randy Cash, Chris Cates, Evan Cates, Patrick Cates, Clay Champion, Darrow Rimmer and Mike Rimmer. Honorary pallbearers will be the Believers Sunday School Class, Homestead Steakhouse Employees, Mt. Zion United Methodist Men, Donny Harris, Ralph Harris, Hugh Jones, Devereaux Long, Darrell Moore, Martin Rimmer, Bradley Tuck and Cecil White.

Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Stew Building Fund, c/o Joy Griffith, 135 Clay Long, Hurdle Mills, NC 27541.
