PHS girls look to keep pace in crowded Mid-State

The Person High School girls basketball team will look for a statement win Friday when it challenges Northeast Guilford.

The Rockets head into Friday’s game at 6-7 overall and 1-4 in a tough Mid-State Conference.

League rivals Western Alamance, Northern Guilford and Rockingham County are among the top- 11 teams in the latest Max- Preps Adjusted Rankings.

Northeast Guilford currently sits fourth in the conference at 8-6 overall and 3-2 in Mid-State.

Person will be looking to work its way up to one of the top four spots in the conference to be considered for an at-large playoff spot.

The Rockets opened up the 2018 calendar with a 51-35 loss after winning the Gazette-Virginian Holiday Classic.

Person is currently ranked 72nd in the latest MaxPreps Adjusted Rankings.
