The Person High School prom committee, alongside coordinators Angela Thomas and Angelas Hunt have started preparation for this spring’s formal event.

The event will be held at Palace Pointe on April 21 in the skating rink from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Tickets will cost $25.

Juniors chose three students from their homeroom who would be interested in prom preparation, and those students were placed on prom committee. The committee is responsible for decorating and generating ideas for prom.

The location this year marks a change, as prom is usually held at PHS.

¨We are excited about prom being held at Palace Pointe,” Hunt said.

Additionally, the prom coordinators and committee have a clear vision for what the prom experience will be. The chosen theme will be ¨Enchanted Garden”, and decor will include lamp posts and flowers. There will be a photographer and a D.J. present, and a souvenir will be given to those in attendance. Meatballs and sub sandwiches will be served.

Approximately 300-350 people are expected to attend. Freshmen and sophomores may attend only if they are asked by a junior or senior. If students want to attend prom with someone who does not attend Person High School, the student must fill out a form with information about the person.

This form will be located in the main office.

Somerooms will nominate Prom King and Queen from the senior class and Prom Prince and Princess from the junior class. As students enter the dance, they will be given a ticket to vote for prince, princess, best dancer, cutest couple, and best dressed. All winners will be announced and awarded during prom.

The dress code of the school will not apply, but students should dress in good taste and not overly revealing.

¨Keep it classy,¨ said Thomas about prom attire.
