RCS teacher named honorary Beta Club member


Roxboro Community School middle school teacher Kara Roberts was named an honorary member of the RCS Beta Club as part of Make An Impact Monday at the school.

GRACE HARDY | THE BULLHORN Kara Roberts, a middleschool teacher at Roxboro Community School, was named an honorary member of the RCS Beta Club at “Make an Impact Monday” on March 5.

The special event was one of a series celebrating National Beta Week, which ran from March 5-9.

According to Roxboro Community School Beta Club public relations officer Jackson Woody, Roberts demonstrated “Beta-like characteristics through her actions with SADD club, the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasia, Girl Scouts and much more.”

Woody also noted her willingness to go above and beyond her own classroom duties.

“When RCS needed an additional Spanish teacher, she stepped up – while teaching classes in personal finance and academic success – in addition to all of her other duties,” he said.

Roberts is a native of Person County and graduate of Person High School. She’s in her fourth year teaching at Roxboro Community School.
