Rev. Brian Keith Hager

Rev. Brian Keith Hager, age 49, of 1207 Dover Street, died Monday morning, March 12, 2018 at his home.

Rev. Hager was born Dec. 14, 1968 in Frostburg, Maryland, son of Gerald Dale & Geneva June Thomas Hager and was husband of 18 years to Wendie Anne Shaw Hager, all of whom survive.  Brian received his B.A. from South Eastern in Wake Forest, and was then ordained at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church where he served as associate pastor.  He accepted the job as pastor at Mill Creek Baptist Church and from there went on to be pastor at Bethany Baptist Church where he was a member.

Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are three children, Elijah Jude Hager, Benjamin Thomas Hager, Anna June Hager all of the home, two sisters, Yvonne Michele Hager Reid, Stephanie Kaye Hager Wright & husband, Austin of Rocky Mount, brother-in-law, Kendall Shaw & wife, Bridget of Timberlake, two nieces, Brittany Anne Wright, Grace Catherine Wright, six nephews, William Thomas Wright, Matthew Dale Wright, Noah Daniel Reid, Clayton Shaw, Alex Shaw, and Jeremy Shaw. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Wendell Stokes, the Rev. Dave Pryor, Dr. M. David Chambers, and the Rev. Ben Durand officiating.  Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services and other times at the home.         

Pallbearers will be Noah Reid, Alex Shaw, Clayton Shaw, Jeremy Shaw, Matthew Wright, and William Wright.
