SUBMITTED Person High School students in Jennifer Tong’s english and yearbook classes visited North End Elementary as part of their Reader Role Models program for the month of March SUBMITTED Person High School teacher Jennifer Tong took her English 3 and Yearbook classes to North End Elementary School to read to the kids and even help them out with homework.

The Person students went as a part of their Reader Role Models program for the month of March and read to a fifth-grade class, two kindergarten classes and a combined third and fourth grade class throughout the day. Even though the students of North End Elementary had a great day with the students, the students from Person also had moments they remembered well.

“I got to bond with a couple of young kids and feel like I helped them blossom,” Person student Carrie Suttle said.

“I was blessed with the amazing opportunity to work with the kids who needed extra help,” Mackenzie Fisher said.

Some of the high school students were surprised by how advanced many students were at a young age.
