Ann Long Carr

Ann Long Carr, 73, of 1325 Charlie Carr Long Road, died Friday, April 20, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center. 

Born in Person County daughter of the late Joseph L. Long and Bertha Morris Long; in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of over 37 years, Guy Carr, one sister Brenda Long Carr, one brother Joseph Wayne Long, one step son James “Jimmy” Edward Carr, and one granddaughter Lindsey Carr.  Mrs. Carr worked alongside her husband as a tobacco farmer; she also worked as an inspector for Longhurst Cotton Mill and North American Parachute Company. She was a member of the former Victory Baptist Church, which is now New Beginnings Baptist Church. Mrs. Carr was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother.  She also was an avid flower gardener, and was known for her immaculate yard, that she enjoyed working in, as well as her breathtaking flowers.

Surviving are two sons, Charles E. Carr, and wife Tonya, Guy Wesley Carr; one brother, Tommy Long; one sister in law, Ruby Long; three grandchildren, Sean Carr, Casey Carr, Britney Carr; two foster grandchildren, Dennis Pulliam, and Adam Penny; special aunt Frances “Frankie” Oakley.

Memorial Services will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at New Beginnings Baptist Church by the Pastor Chad Benefield.  A private interment will be held at a later date.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the church prior to the service, and other times at the home of her son and daughter in law, Charles and Tonya Carr 1453 Rolling Hills Road Roxboro, NC 27574.

The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to her special care assistant and friend Peggy Stone.
