Delaine N. Pierce

Mr. Delaine N. Pierce, age 72, of 608 South Foushee Street, departed this life on Monday, April 30, 2018 in Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. He was a native of Person County and a member of Young’s Chapel Baptist Church.

He is survived by four sons, James L. Pierce, 1SG US Army (retired) (Iris) of Wade, Charles Pierce (Shirley) of Durham, James Hughes (Shonda) of Durham and Tracy Torain of Greensboro; 11 siblings, Jackie Pierce (Celia); Barbara Winstead of Hurdle Mills, Shirley Davis (James), Albert Lawson, Willie Lawson, Deborah Stallings, Linda Monk, Donna Rogers, Loraine Montgomery, Phyllis Lawson and Sherry McKey, all of Magnolia; four grandchildren, Jazmine Kilpatrick (Fontae) of Raleigh, Rachael Pierce and Morgan Pierce (Daniel), both of Fayetteville and Marcus Hughes of Texas; three great-grandchildren;  cousin, Willie Pierce (Annette), also of Raleigh; Alean (best friend) and the Jordan family; and a host of other additional relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Young’s Chapel Baptist Church, 284 Young’s Chapel Church Road, Roxboro, NC 27574 with the Rev. Robbie Bynum, pastor, providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the family present during the last hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The body will lie in state in the church for one hour prior to the service.

Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Directors are in charge of the service of comfort for Mr. Delaine N. Pierce.
