Elijah Grove Baptist honors pastor’s anniversary

Elijah Grove Baptist Church will honor its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Alfred Faulkner, on his 30th pastoral anniversary on Saturday, June 16, at the Festival House in Timberlake.

The guest speaker will be N.C. Senator and Senior Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, Winston Salem, the Rev. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. The program will last from 6-10 p.m.

On Sunday, June 17, the guest speaker for the 9:45 a.m. worship service will be the Rev. George Blount, pastor of Greater White Baptist Church, Philadelphia.

For the past 30 years, Faulkner has served as the pastor of Elijah Grove Baptist Church, where he has been an innovator in bringing about many meaningful changes. Faulkner attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

He has also earned his Master of Divinity degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, and a doctorate from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. Faulkner is the founder and C.E.O. of Restoration and Elevation Incorporated. His corporation encourages healing, health and wholeness through training and development.

He has been a keynote speaker at numerous conventions and leads seminars and workshops designed to assist individuals who have been bruised, battered, scarred and torn in life’s struggles. His goal is to bring every part of their lives into harmony.

At present he is employed at Piedmont Community College as an Academic Consultant with the U. S. Department of Education TRIO program, which assists individuals in achieving their goal of higher education.

He is a member of the Brotherhood of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and a host of other boards and committees aimed at improving the lives of others.

Lowe has served as senior pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church for 20 years in Winston-Salem. He will be the guest speaker on Saturday, June 16.

Lowe also serves as a North Carolina State Senator. Lowe has focused on the economic and social needs of the citizens of North Carolina.

He earned his Doctor of Ministry from Drew University of Theology and furthered his studies at Christ Church College (Oxford University) in Oxford, England. He is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and various other civic and fraternal organizations. Lowe is married to the former LaGail Crews, retired Master Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force.

Blount, has served as senior pastor of Greater White Rock Baptist Church, Philadelphia, Pa., for more than 20 years. He will be the guest preacher at Elijah Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, June 17th.

Blount earned a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Preaching from Newburgh Theological Seminary. Currently he is working on his second Doctorate in Business Administration. Blount is an adjunct professor at Strayer University and Manna Bible Institute. He and his wife are also the founders of Marriage and Family Enrichment Ministries, Inc. a ministry that conducts seminars, workshops and counseling to help others maintain a spirit-filled union with God and each other.

Blount has received numerous awards such as Outstanding Professional Business Men of America, and Who’s Who of America.

He is also a Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He and his wife Andrea Blount are the proud parents of two children, Keisha Blount Nelson and George Blount III.
