Kay Frances Simpson Glasscock

ROUGEMONT  — Kay Frances Simpson Glasscock, 73, of 11001 Oxford Road, Rougemont, died Monday, June 11, 2018 at her home. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Durant Simpson and Gladys Oakley Simpson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Lynn Simpson. She retired from the American Tobacco Company. Mrs. Glasscock was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, James Edward Glasscock of the home; three children, Deborah G. Woodruff of Henderson, Belinda “Punkin” G. Ivey (James Leroy Boyer, Jr.) of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Ronald E. Glasscock (Sherrie) of Timberlake; one brother, Alvin “Butch” Simpson, Jr. of Rougemont; one sister, Donnie Ann Horton of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Josh Woodruff, Jennifer Elizabeth Ivey, Graham Thomas Ivey, Brandi W. Jones, Hannah Grace Glasscock and Coleman Durant Glasscock; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of Ronald & Sherrie Glasscock (567 Mt. Harmony Church Road, Timberlake).

Pallbearers will be Norman “SamBo” Adcock, Lonnie Jefferies, Josh Woodfuff, Forrest Cozart, Bobbie Jones, Camden Wysong, Clyde Elliott, and Michael Simpson.

Flowers are acceptable, or memorials may be made to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 1655 Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, Rougemont, NC 27572.
