Our Mother was an exceptional woman who lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, spending time with her wonderful children and their families, tending her wonderful flowers which she had such a passion for, working in her lovely gardens, canning her vegetables, cooking and baking. She gave so much and asked for absolutely nothing in return. For as many years as all of us can remember our family has always gathered at our Mothers home on Sunday for lunch. She loved this fellowship and was always at the head of the table leading the family discussions. She was the glue that has always held our wonderful family together. She will be deeply missed by all of us and the untold number of people she knew through her wonderful life that loved her.

She had a wonderful and cheerful disposition, a very sweet natured woman who raised a wonderful family which she always said was her proudest accomplish in life. Mother always dealt with whatever life dealt her and rarely got upset but those that knew her well always recognized you were in trouble when she pointed her crooked little finger at you. We will all miss all of her distinguishing characteristics but we will never forget our wonderful Mother.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Saturday, July 28th at Clements Funeral Home in Durham and at other times at the family’s home.
