Bruce Thomas Epps “Muff” “Chief”

ROUGEMONT — Bruce Thomas Epps “Muff” “Chief”, 73, of 2160 Mt. Harmony Church Road, Rougemont, died Monday, July 30, 2018. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Nathan Booze Epps and Artie Bosley Epps. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Humphries Epps, one step-son, Michael Mise, and nine siblings. Mr. Epps was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Turner Epps of the home; three children, Tamara Blalock (James), Artie Lynn Carver (Randall), and Thomas Epps (Brandie); three step children, Dennis Mise (Gail), Robin Mise, James “Sambo” Mise (Connie); one sister, Ophelia Epps Heath; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church and other times at the home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Stewart and Mr. Jimmy Heath, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
