It’s back to school for Person Early College for Innovation and Leadership!

Fifty-two new ninthgraders and one new tenth-grader were welcomed into the PECIL community Wednesday morning, as students explored campus, met their teachers and got to know each other a little better.

According to PECIL Principal Shirlrona Johnson, the first couple weeks of school will consist of welcoming activities such as these to help students transition smoothly into the early college environment.

Ice-breaker games, advisory meetings and a campus-wide scavenger hunt are on the schedule. Students even welcomed another PECIL addition – Colombian native Diego Ortiz, who will be teaching Spanish.
