DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS, CHAPTER 72, will meet 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug.16, at the American Legion building at 218 Chub Lake S. The DAV Auxiliary will meet at the same time. Veterans needing the assistance of a Service Officer, for information or assistance with a claim, may come by the Legion Post from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. any Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. An appointment is not necessary.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS meets at 7 p.m. Sundays; at 8 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and at noon on Wednesdays at Reformation Christian Center.

The PERSON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1969 will meet for a reunion 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Clarksville Station restaurant, 4080 Durham Road, Roxboro. The PERSON COUNTY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY YARD SALE will be held 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 11. Among the items for sale will be new items, furniture, appliances, decorative items, toys, books, and building materials. Donated items will be accepted.

There will be a “SHARE THE ROAD COMMUNITY EVENT” 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, in the Advance Auto Parts parking lot. Mechanics from several auto repair shops will be on hand to answer questions. Members of fire and law enforcement departments will also talk and answer questions. MADD will be there to share what they do for the community. Ford Brothers Auto Repair is involved in this community event.

The PERSON COUNTY SENIOR CENTER will hold an Estate Planning 101 class 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17, at the senior center. The program is presented by Ford Bradshaw, financial advisor with Edward Jones, and local estate attorney William Cates. The program is free. The senior center is located at 87 Semora Road, Roxboro. CENTER will hold Paint Pour Class (Part 2), Canvas Bubble Technique and Strainer Pour, at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 17. The cost is $15 and all materials will be provided. The instructor is Virgie Watson.

The PERSON COUNTY SENIOR CENTER will hold a beginner’s crochet class 12:45 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 27. The class if free, but space is limited with a maximum of five students. Yarn will be provided but participants must bring their own “H” crochet hook and scissors.

The AMERICAN RED CROSS has scheduled several blood drives for August and September.

There will be a blood drive 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Aug. 24, at the State Employees Credit Union, 220 Long Ave., Roxboro. Contact Tanika McKesson at 336- 599-6900 for an appointment.
