GRACE PRYOR | BULLHORN Recently, Roxboro Community School (RCS) has made some changes to its dress code. These changes now allow middle school students to wear RCS hoodies and striped polos along with regular polos.

Even though changes have been made, many RCS middle school students still want more changes made.

Eighth grade student Emma Contrada said of the new dress code, “I like it but, I feel like middle schoolers should be allowed more freedom. We should be able to wear just a plain shirt; not just a polo.”

Many students like the few changes of the dress code because they are allowed more freedom. Eighth grade student Jackson Powley said, “I like the change of dress code because I now have more opportunities to express myself.”

What most students like most about the change is being allowed to wear RCS hoodies.

Eighth grader Abby Ottaway said, “The dress code makes me want to come to school more now because we are allowed to wear RCS hoodies.”

Powley also pointed out a downside to the change of dress code. He said, “I like that we are allowed to wear striped polos but, because we weren’t allowed to wear them last year, I don’t have any in stock. This means that if we want to wear them we have to invest in them.”
