The BETHEL HILL CHARTER SCHOOL BOARD OF DIRECTORS will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 18 at 7 pm at Bethel Hill Charter School.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS meets at 7 p.m. Sundays; at 8 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and at noon on Wednesdays at Reformation Christian Center.

AA CHAMPIONS GROUP meets at New Brook United Methodist Church, 267 Old Durham Rd., at noon Tuesdays and Fridays; at 8 p.m. Wednesday; and at 1 p.m. Saturdays.

PERSON COUNTY AL-ANON meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Long Memorial United Methodist Church in Roxboro.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE SUPPORT GROUP meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays at Reformation Christian Center, 134 Weeks Dr., next to Golden Corral.

AA NEW BEGINNINGS GROUP has closed literature study meetings at 7 p.m. on Fridays at New Brook United Methodist Church, 265 Old Durham Road, Roxboro.

AA BACK ROOM GROUP meets at 6 p.m. on Sundays at the Hurdle Mills Fire Department.

The PERSON COUNTY HABITAT for Humanity Yard Sale will be at 108 Carver Drive on Friday, September 14, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday, September 15, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. New items, furniture, appliances and decorative items, toys, books, building materials. Donated items will be accepted. 50% OFF EVERYTHING. ALSO THE FOLLOWING FREE ITEMS: flat screen monitors, keyboards and network adapters.

The AMERICAN RED CROSS has scheduled several blood drives for September and October.

There will be a blood drive 1:30-6 p.m., Sept. 20, at the National Guard Armory, 605 Burlington Road. Contact Dale Eggert at 336-597- 2927 for an appointment.

There will be a blood drive 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, at the Roxboro Community School, 115 Lake Dr.

PERSON COUNTY SUCCESS INITIATIVE now offer evening and daytime classes. If you are interested in increasing your income, managing finances and qualifying for Habitat Housing contact The Christian Help Center at 336- 599-6071 for more information. Our next evening class begins Sept. 6, 5:30-8 pm. Dinner and childcare provided.

APPLE DAY AT RALEIGH FARMER’S MARKET - Thursday, Sept. 27. Celebrate NC‘s Apple Harvest with free apple dessert samples, recipes and more. There will be plenty of home grown apples and apple products for purchase. Lunch “on your own” (bring money) at the Farmer’s Market Restaurant. Departing Person County Senior Center at 9:30 a.m.; Lunch 11 a.m.; and Market browsing 12 noon - 2 p.m. Trip cost $5. Limited to 13 participants. NC STATE FAIR MOTOR COACH TRIP FROM ROXBORO - Tuesday, October 16. Seniors age 65 and over get in free every day of the Fair, on Tuesday, October 16, they can also enjoy a free Bojangles’ breakfast and entertainment at the Senior Citizen Fun Festival. The bus will leave promptly at 7:30 a.m. from 121 Depot St in Uptown Roxboro and return around 4 p.m. Cost: $20 per person. To register, please visit Person Senior Center and pay the trip fee. BILTMORE ESTATE, ASHEVILLE & BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY BUS TRIP - December 3-6. Cost $450 per person. Register before September 26.
