Mark Anthony Wilson, 56, born and raised in Carrboro, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 26, 2014 at Duke Regional Hospital.He worked 15-plus years at PSNC in Durham.He is survived by his son, Justin Wilson of Roxboro; daughter, Wendy Wilson of Topsail Beach; Father, Henry Wilson Sr. of Carrboro; Brother, Henry Wilson Jr. and wife Nancy Wilson of Chapel Hill; sister, Brenda Greenberg of Carrboro, and grandchildren, Brittany and Tyler Wilson.The family will receive visitors Thursday, Dec 4 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Walker’s Funeral Home in Chapel Hill.The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec 4, also at Walker’s Funeral Home in Chapel Hill.Burial will follow at the Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro.Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Greenberg, Kyle Greenberg, Fred Sparrow, Don Wilson, Kyle Price, and Milton Hill.

Mrs. Annie McCain Dixon, age 84, a resident of 239 Wiley Bradsher Rd., Hurdle Mills, departed this life in Wayne County Friday morning, Nov. 28, 2014.She was a native of Person County and a member of Church of God In Christ Jesus in Roxboro.She is survived by five children: Clarence Dixon (Judy) of Rocky Mount, NC; Tim Dixon of Durham, NC; Harry Dixon (Wilma) of Goldsboro, NC; Deborah Cousin (Karl) of the home; and Sylvia Edwards (Bobbie) of Roxboro; two sisters-in-law: Marie Latta and Dorothy McCain; 20 grandchildren, including grandson, Andy Dixon of the home; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.The funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, Dec. 3, noon at the Church of God In Christ Jesus, 915 Allie Clay Rd., Roxboro, NC 27573 with Mother Gladys Campbell officiating. John Tresley Meadows, 79, of Roxboro, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014. Born in Person County, son of the late Roxie Anna Lunsford Meadows and Johnnie H. Meadows, in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Richardson Meadows and his three brothers, Leslie Meadows, Perry Meadows and Wesley Meadows. Mr. Meadows was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from the N. C. National Guard. He was a member of Berry’s Grove Baptist Church.Surviving is his son John (Butch) Meadows of Alabama.; two stepdaughters, Cindy McCullough of Hurdle Mills and Vickie Yeingst of Cary; his brother Clayton Meadows of Roxboro; his half brother Ed Washington, Jr. of Bahama; his four half sisters, Wanda Washington of Butner, Jackie Westbrooks of Roxboro, Becky Irby of Timberlake, Vickie Holt of Timberlake; his grandson Zachary Meadows; and his two granddaughters Ashley Whitt and Heather Franklin.A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Berry’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. CHESTER, VA. — Michael Wayne Keesling, 66, of Chester, Va. passed away on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014.He was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Keesling. Mike was a graduate of Roxboro High School Class of 1966.He started his career in the funeral service in 1968. Mike graduated from John Tyler Community College School of Mortuary Science in 1973, served as vice president of Pi Sigma Eta National Morticians Fraternity and was in Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges in 1972-73.Mike has worked for many firms, such as Dellinger, Finch & Finch, Bliley’s, Bennett’s and Nelson, and most recently served as chapel manager at Memorial Funeral Home in Hopewell over his 46-year career.Mike had a love for flying and received his pilot’s license in 1981, which allowed him to fly several single engine planes.
