Mr. Larry Wayne Lester, 64, of 213 Webb St., departed this life Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Person Memorial Hospital. He was born in Person County to the late Fred and Vera Lester. He attended Person County Schools and obtained his General Equivalency Diploma from Piedmont Community College
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Larry Leion Lester; five brothers: Otha, Maxie, Robert, Fred Junior and Tommie Dwight; and two sisters, Mary Blossom Lester and Evelyn L. Hamlett.
He is survived by one daughter, Katrina Hargrave (Rod) of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Kameron Hargrave of Raleigh, Serenity Perry and Larry (LJ) Leondre` Lester, Jr. of Charlotte; two brothers, Franklin R. and Melvin D. Lester (Peggy), both of Roxboro; four sisters, Mable Lester and Corine Lester, both of Philadelphia, Penn. and Anne Snipes and Nannie Louise Smith, both of Roxboro; two aunts, Annie Bell Lester and Esther Woods, both of Roxboro; former wife, Hazel Cash; five sisters-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Home with the Rev. Clevie Brandon, Pastor of Compassionate Ministries Church, officiating and providing the eulogy. Visitation will also be Wednesday at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m., when his body will lie in state in the Chapel for one hour prior to the service.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his brother at 261 Anderbrock Drive, Roxboro, NC 27573.
Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Directors are in charge of the service of comfort for Mr. Larry Wayne Lester.
