A week after it declined, the percent of positive tests increased this week, according to the weekly COVID-19 update from the Person County Health Department released Thursday.
In the past week, the percent positive rose to 4.37 percent – the highest since that metric appeared in the weekly reports on July 15.
Another death in the past week took the county's total to nine.
There have been 489 test-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Person County with 42 new cases announced in the update.
Of the new cases, 29 were exhibiting symptoms of the disease.
There are currently 60 active cases in the county – 58 people are being monitored at home and there are two currently hospitalized.
In total, 11,171 COVID-19 tests have been administered to Personians, both in and out of Person County – 537 of which were in the last week.
