The Piedmont Community College Foundation is accepting applications for the current scholarship round. Recipients can use awarded funds to assist with tuition, books, and fees for their fall semester at the college.
The scholarships are available to current students and those enrolled to begin their studies this fall.
Scholarships ranging from $250- $1,000 are available for students who apply through the online application found at www.piedmontcc.edu/scholarships by the July 15 deadline.
Scholarship criteria varies, however most require a minimum grade point average of 2.5. A portion of the scholarships are based solely on merit while others have a financial need element. Applicants are required to complete an online application, provide updated unofficial transcript, and submit two letters of recommendations.
“With the generous support of our donors and community partners, PCC Foundation is dedicated to helping students reach their education and career goals,” said Allison Satterfield, Executive Director of the PCC Foundation. “We have seen scholarships change lives at PCC, and we are grateful to this community for allowing us to provide greater opportunities for our students.”
All PCC Foundation scholarship applications are reviewed by a committee. Once selected, recipients are required to write a thank you note to the donor and assist with one college event during the academic year.
If you have any questions regarding the application process, contact Patti Clayton at the Foundation Office at 336-322-2105 or PCCFoundation@piedmontcc.edu.
Potential scholarship recipients must apply each academic year to be considered. Piedmont Community College does not discriminate on the basis of sex, disability, race, creed, religion, color, age, or national origin.
External scholarship opportunities are also available and can be found in the PCC Financial Aid office. Students are also encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. To complete that application, students can visit www.fafsa.ed.gov or stop by PCC’s financial aid office for assistance in completing the application. When completing or making edits to the FAFSA form, students and parents are strongly recommended to utilize the IRS data retrieval option. Applicants are asked to bring the following items with them when asking for assistance: current federal tax returns (student, spouse, and/or parent), current W-2 forms, and current sources of untaxed income.
