  • The 40th annual Personality Festival, will continue through today, Aug. 24, in Uptown Roxboro. Events will take place from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission is free.
  • Floral designer Carolyn Brackin, will be at the Milton Renaissance Museum & Visitors Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, demonstrating how to prepare flowers for arranging, and how to build a floral design.   • Woodland owners are invited to a timber marketing workshop, from 7 – 9 p.m., Aug. 29, at the Granville County Expo Center 4185 U.S. 15, Oxford. This workshop is co-sponsored by the N.C. Forest Service and N.C. Cooperative Extension. At this workshop, woodland owners will get advice from the experts on how to navigate the marketing process successfully. Presenters will include a forestry specialist, Dr. Robert Bardon, of NCSU Extension Forestry, a woodland owner, and Preston Floyd, 2017 N.C.   • The American Red Cross, will sponsor a blood drive from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Furniture Mart, 740 N. Madison Blvd.
  • The Freedom Cruizers Car Club, will host a cruise-in from 6 - 8 p.m., Sept. 6 in the parking lot in front of Advance Auto Parts on North Madison Boulevard. Admission is free.
  • The Kirby Gallery, will host an artists’ reception from 6 - 8 p.m., Sept. 6 to recognize Kim Langlois and members of the Art Guild.
  • Free movie night at the Kirby, will be held at 7 p.m., Sept. 6 at the Kirby Theater. The theater will screen Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
  • Cars & Coffee, will be held at 8 a.m., Sept. 7, in the Merritt Commons parking lot.
  • The Roxboro Patriots’ Day ceremony, will take place at 10 a.m., Sept. 7 at Person County Veterans’ Park on South Morgan Street. The event is free.
  • The Piedmont Community College Foundation, will host Pickin’ By the Lake, from 1 - 9 p.m., Sept. 7 at the Mayo Lake Amphitheater. Tickets cost $25 per person if purchased before Aug. 23. Tickets purchased later will cost $30.
  • The Healthy Personians, Substance Use Disorder Subcommittee will host the fourth annual Substance Misuse Summit Sept. 18. Events will begin with the Good Morning Coffee Hour from 8-9 a.m at Golden Corral. Cost is $2. No pre-registration is required. From 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. training for substance abuse training will be provided at the Person County Office Building auditorium.
