The Latest Agenda



  • Person County Board of Health, will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23 in the Health Department classroom, at 355 Madison Blvd., Roxboro. Public comments are welcomed.
  • The Leasburg Ruritan Club, will host a Community Safety Night, at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the Leasburg Ruritan Club Building, 3535 North N.C. 119, Leasburg. Caswell County Sheriff Tony Durden and his deputies will be on hand to meet with the public and listen to their concerns and comments.
  • The Person County Democratic Party, will host State Democratic Party chairman Wayne Goodwin as part of his statewide “Listening Tour.” The meeting will take place at 3 p.m., Sept. 26 at the Person County Senior Center, 87 Semora Road, Roxboro.
  • The Person County Soil and Water Conservation District, will host its third annual Tri-County Livestock and Pasture Management Field Day, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26 at Deerfield Farms, 3000 Breeze Road, Hurdle Mills. Free lunch will be provided to those who pre-register by calling the Person Soil and Water Conservation District office at 336-599-0284 ext. 3.
  • Free movie: “The Money Pit,” will be shown at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4, at the Kirby Theater, 213 N. Main St., Roxboro. Person County Habitat for Humanity will be selling concessions.
  • An Artists’ Reception featuring Chrystal Hardt, will be held from 6 - 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4, at the Kirby Gallery, 213 N. Main St., Roxboro.
  • The UNCG Jazz Faculty Quintet, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Saturday., Oct. 5, at the Kirby Theater, 213 N. Main St., Roxboro. Admission will be charged.
  • Free movie : The sensory-friendly “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” will be shown at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Kirby Theater.
  • Person County 4-H, will host an informational meeting about plans to start a Beekeeping Club for youth between the ages of 5 and 18. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Oct. 7 in the Person County Office Building, 304 S. Morgan St., Roxboro.
  • Vintage Market Day, will be held from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, at The Shops of Hall’s Way, 44 Gordon St., Roxboro.
  • Memory Lane Cruisers’ Car Club, will have a cruise-in at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, in Roxboro Square, 355 S. Madison Blvd., Roxboro.
  • Piedmont Electric Membership Corp., will host a community day from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 at Credar Grove Ruritan Club, 6116 Efland Road, Cedar Grove.
  • Friends of the Person County Senior Center, at 87 Semora Road, will sponsor a Brunswick stew and bake sale fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. Cost is $8 per quart. Tickets may be purchased at the Senior Center, and ACI Physical Therapy, 337 S. Madison Blvd. (located behind La Cocina).
  • Safe Haven of Person County, will hold its annual Color of Hope Gala fundraising event, benefiting Safe Haven of Person County, at 5 p.m., Oct. 19 at the Manor on Main Bed and Breakfast, 400 N. Main St., Roxboro. There will be drinks, food, fun, silent auction and more. General admission is $25, semi-formal attire recommended.


  • AA Champions Group, meets at New Brook United Methodist Church, 267 Old Durham Road, at 12 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays; at 8 p.m. Wednesday; and at 1 p.m. Saturdays. Person County Al-Anon, meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Long Memorial United Methodist Church in Roxboro.
  • The NA Homegroup of Roxboro, meets several times each week in the Parrish House of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 422 N. Main St., Roxboro.
