Monday, Jan. 23
9:26 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of forgery at Roxboro Savings Bank on South Main Street.
11:49 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of financial transaction card fraud on North Foushee Street. The total estimated loss was $405.
3:16 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of larceny at Walmart on Durham Road. The total estimated loss was $257.
3:39 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle on Leasburg Road.
3:58 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of larceny at CVS on North Madison Boulevard. The total estimated loss was $152.
Tuesday, Jan. 24
9:54 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of vandalism on Meadowwood Court. The total estimated damage was $500.
10:30 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of obtaining property by false pretense at Talbert Building Supply on Old Durham Road.
5:08 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of larceny at Winners on North Madison Boulevard. The total estimated loss was $71.
6:26 p.m. – Brittany Marie Drewery, 33, of Hampton Court, Burlington, was charged with felony conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses. Drewery was placed under a $5,000 unsecured bond.
7 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of trespassing on Mica Court.
8:23 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering on Edgar Street.
Wednesday, Jan. 25
10:21 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of communicating threats on Yarborough Street.
12:43 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of trespassing on South Madison Boulevard.
5:50 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of larceny at Quick Cash Pawn on North Madison Boulevard. The total estimated loss was $150.
8:51 p.m. – Reginald Jerome Thomas Jr., 28, of West Morehead Street, Roxboro, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon.
Thursday, Jan. 26
12:27 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of assault on a female on Dolly Street.
9:16 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of possession of a stolen vehicle on South Main Street.
10:56 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering on North Lamar Street. The total estimated loss was $2,138.
Friday, Jan. 27
10:43 p.m. – Officers conducted a death investigation on Leasburg Road.
4:16 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of larceny on Old Durham Road. The total estimated loss was $5,800.
4:55 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of larceny of motor vehicle parts or accessories on Durham Road.
5:16 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of larceny at Dollar General on North Madison Boulevard. The total estimated loss was $20.
7:35 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of simple assault on North Madison Boulevard.
Saturday, Jan. 29
12:44 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of larceny at Tractor Supply on North Madison Boulevard. The total estimated loss was $200.
Sunday, Jan. 30
12:43 p.m. – Karl Malik McLaurin, 24, of Shale Circle, Roxboro, was charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm, misdemeanor assault on a female, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun. McLaurin was placed under a $30,000 secured bond. McLaurin was later charged with felony aiding and abetting and held without bond.
3:15 p.m. – Marquis Ja’quan Torain, 26, of Shale Circle, Roxboro, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon. Torain was placed under a $30,000 secured bond. Torain was later charged with felony trafficking in cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for use, sale or storage of controlled substances and felony conspiracy to commit a felony and placed under an additional $25,000 secured bond.

Monday, Jan. 23
8:25 a.m. – Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Chub Lake Road.
Tuesday, Jan. 24
2:02 p.m. – Essence Renee Farrish, 25, of Lawson Chapel Church Road, Roxboro, was charged with felony larceny by an employee. Farrish was placed under a $2,500 unsecured bond.
Wednesday, Jan. 25
11:09 a.m. – Susan Carver Roach, 47, of Burke Road, Pelham, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine. Roach was placed under a $1,000 secured bond.
12:44 p.m. – Victoria Danielle Banks, 19, of Lucy Garrett Road, Timberlake, was charged with felony larceny by an employee. Banks was placed under a $1,500 unsecured bond.
2:32 p.m. – Deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity on Woody’s Store Road.
Thursday, Jan. 26
12:20 a.m. – Justin Bates, 32, of Shady Hill Circle, Roxboro, was charged with felony possession of heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bates was placed under a $1,500 secured bond.
4:04 a.m. – Deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity on Mackfieldson Road.
1:20 p.m. – Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Dirgie Mine Road.
3:02 p.m. – Heather Jo Alkins, 32, of Edwin Robertson Road, Roxboro, was charged with felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance. Alkins was placed under a $7,000 secured bond.
Sunday, Jan. 29
3:50 p.m. – Deputies responded to a report of injury to personal property on Colonial Estates Road.
Monday, Jan. 30
11:18 p.m. – Steven Ray Englebright, 50, of Halifax Road, Roxboro, was charged with two counts of felony possession of a firearm by a felon and taken into custody on warrants for misdemeanor second degree trespassing and two counts of misdemeanor larceny from Wake County. Englebright was placed under a $11,000 secured bond.
The crime reports section will only regularly feature the names and information of those charged with felony crimes. If a situation warrants, those charged with misdemeanors may also appear.
As much as possible, staff will do its best to include as much about the incidents that law enforcement respond to in the timely manner that is reported to us. Some incidents will not be available in the issue immediately following the date of the incident.
