Midterm turnout officially 15,658

In 2018, 7,943 voters cast their ballots early and another 156 voters cast mail-in ballots, approximately 30 percent of the 26,925 registered voters at the time.

This year, approximately 33 percent of the county’s registered voters cast their ballots early or voted using an absentee ballot.

On Election Day, 6,287 voters cast their ballots – approximately 23 percent of the county’s registered voters.

The official turnout for this year’s midterm election was 56.33 percent – 15,658 of the county’s 27,796 registered voters.

According to the state Board of Elections, 62 provisional ballots were cast this year.

The county Board of Elections approved 20 provisional ballots, denying 42.

The additional absentee-by-mail and provisional ballots did not change this year’s election results.
