Rev. Jimmy Francis Pulliam, 78, of Roxboro, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2023. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Lennie Thomas Pulliam and Daisy Day Pulliam. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers: Lewis, Wilton and Ferrell Pulliam; five sisters: Magnolia, Augusta, Idla, Betty and Vernoa.Â
Mr. Pulliam was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Pulliam pastored for over 47 years having ministered at five different churches in the area. He loved wood working, milling logs and cutting trees with a chain saw. He also loved the gardening and using his tractor. Most of all he loved his family and Jesus Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Mooney Pulliam of the home; four children: Steven Daniel Pulliam (Paula) of Hillsville, Va., Timothy Pulliam (Ronda) of Roxboro, David Pulliam (Sharon) of Wilmington and Mitzi Dawn Dufour (David) of Herndon, Va.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial service were held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Chambers and the Rev. Victor Blackwell officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
