Jay, Surrency combine for doubles win in home finale

RCS top-seeded singles player Emily Rogers and four seed Cora Bell forced a tiebreak, only to fall, 9-8 (7-5). Second-seed Allyshea Oliver and third-seed Olivia Ess lost by a narrow, 9-7 score.

Bell, Surrency and Jay all fell by identical, 8-4 scores in their singles matchups. Rogers lost an 8-3 decision, Ess’ opponent beat her by an 8-2 mark, while Oliver grabbed a game in an 8-1 defeat.

RCS starts Triangle North Conference Tournament play at 12 p.m. today. Granville Athletic Park is the host site.
