Person High School’s softball team clutched up when it mattered most to earn a 2-1 win at West Johnston in the 3A state playoffs opener Tuesday night. 

After being held to one hit and no runs through 6 1/3 innings, the Rocket offense strung together three hits and two runs in the seventh to seize momentum and a late lead.
