Eno River Academy men’s soccer player Caleb Allen shined against his former team Thursday night, scoring a hat trick against Roxboro Community School in a 7-1 victory at the Soccer.com Center.
Alden Yarborough added two goals, while Nash Miller and Daniel Munoz scored one each. Deven Covington enjoyed a seven-save night in net.
RCS (3-12-1, 0-7) scored once in the first half, trailing 4-1 at halftime. The host Bobcats (10-3-1, 6-2) added three second-half goals.
The Bulldogs did not have stats available for the contest.
RCS hosted Oxford Prep last night, but results were unavailable at press time.
Bulldog soccer teams sweep Henderson Collegiate
Monday brought a ton of success for the Roxboro Community School men’s soccer program, with both the high school and middle school teams beating Henderson Collegiate in Roxboro.
The high school Bulldogs toppled Henderson Collegiate, 5-1, to snap a three-game losing streak for their first Triangle North Athletic Conference win of the season.
RCS (4-12-1, 1-7) scored twice in the opening half, then three more times in the second. Carver Pleasant (12 saves) and the Bulldog defense prevented Justin Martinez from adding onto his conference-leading, 31-goal season.
Jaxon Lawson scored two goals to lead the RCS scoring attack. He now sits tied for third in the conference with 12 scores.
Matthew Holeman, Nate Stovall and Braxton Allen also found the back of the net for the Bulldogs, while Lawson, Stovall, Blake Vernon, Cameron Dallas and Graden Dery notched assists.
Jose Campanur scored a second-half goal for Henderson Collegiate (6-8-1, 4-4).
Garrett nets game-winner late in second half
Grey Garrett played hero for the RCS middle schoolers Monday afternoon, scoring the eventual winning goal with six minutes left and pushing his team to a 3-2 win against a pesky Henderson Collegiate squad.
Matheu Mize started the Bulldogs’ scoring with an unassisted first-half tally. Cesar Carcamo scored RCS’ second goal off an assist from Locke Pool.
Jax Oliver anchored the Bulldogs in goal with six saves.
The Bulldogs wrap up their regular season Monday, as they travel to Henderson for a 4 p.m. kickoff with Vance Charter.
